Delete your account

Delete it yourself, in the app

This takes effect immediately and needs no request or waiting period.

  1. Open Dogs Out and sign in.
  2. Go to the Profile tab.
  3. Tap the gear icon in the top right to open Settings.
  4. Scroll to Danger zone and tap Delete account.
  5. Tap Delete forever to confirm. Your account and data are erased straight away.

If you can't sign in

Email help@dogsout.app from the address you registered with and ask us to delete your account. We use that address only to confirm the account is yours, and we action the request within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Everything below is erased permanently. Deletion cannot be undone, and accounts cannot be restored.

A dogsitting job you had taken stays with its owner: one still to come is opened again for other sitters, and a past one no longer names you.

What we keep, and for how long

We keep no user data in our database after deletion, apart from reports (below). There is no retention period on your profile, photos, messages or account.

Two technical exceptions exist. Deleted records can persist briefly in routine encrypted backups of our database until those backups age out and are overwritten; they are never used to bring an individual account back. Server logs may contain an email address for a short period as part of normal operation. Neither is used to identify or contact you after deletion.

Reports you made or received are kept, in our database and mailbox, because they are how we recognise repeat behaviour; emails you sent us are not deleted automatically. Ask us at help@dogsout.app if you want them removed.
